WE WAITED TWO HOURS FOR COLD FOOD. I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star if I could. More like -5 We had to go get drink refills ourselves. The waiters thumb was in my soup and the spoon was dirty. Soup was luke warm. I was my own waiter. Nachos were cold and burnt. Said it would only take 6 more minutes and it took an additional 11 minutes from the 6 minutes to get cold food. We had to go find the waiter to get boxes and our check. I asked a waiter to speak to a manager and I was told the manager was not there. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARW HUNGRY!
Food was good, but not worth the price.
Nice place for finer dining in Balsam Lake. Tonight was slow for some reason, though they didn't seem too busy. But the server pro-actively brought a free app for us. Good place.
They had live wonderful live music, all of the boats came and listened. It was a wonderful sight to take in while we enjoyed our food. Small menu, but everything was done perfectly. Could not have wanted more. Wonderful place
I got less service at Paradise than I do with Sprint in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. Go to the nearest rural dive bar, you’ll get better food and a bartender that can make a drink without an attitude. Not going back.
Beautiful setting, fun to sit outside and watch the activity on the lake and boats coming and going. Very nice patio, with live music sometimes(check website). Reasonably prices drinks, service was ok, quick but needed more training in ordering drinks. Not a big deal. Four stars cuz we didn’t try the food. When we do, will update.
Great location and patio over looking the lake. Food selection was poor and the food very mediocre. Could be a very nice destination if the menu were to improve.
This is probably the BEST place to eat! Super Good! My husband surprised me with dinner there on Valentine's day! Our waitress was the best! If I could give them 10 stars I most definitely would! Husband said it's the best fish he has ever had!
The food was outstanding, wonderful view of the lake. Great place for a relaxing meal.
I don’t usually write reviews, but after this experience It was definitely necessary. My family and I met at paradise landing for a birthday. We waited over an hour for our food and our service was extremely poor. Half of our table was done eating before the other half even received their food. Someone at our table got a vodka 7-Up with a splash of cranberry.. we were charged $1.00 FOR A SPLASH OF CRANBERRY JUICE. Really? All of our bills were messed up at the end. AND to top it off, while someone at our table was finishing dessert, we were being questioned as to what we were still doing at our table by the person bussing our table. Unacceptable and extremely rude. We were all very displeased with our experience at Paradise Landing. I would NOT recommend.
It is a nice setup overlooking balsam lake. Staff Is friendly food is excellent and a variety to choose from
We went to this restaurant yesterday, and was thoroughly disappointed. I went here this past summer and was disappointed. First of all, the views and the restaurant are majestic and breathtaking, but the service and food isn't worth the trip unless you want pretzel sticks and something to drink and have about 30 minutes to wait for your food/drinks. We ordered chicken wild rice soup which was luke warm and not tasty. We ordered pretzels and beer cheese dip. The cheese that came with it didn't taste like beer cheese dip so we ordered a second beer cheese dip and by the time we got it about 10 minutes later, our pretzels were gone, and it was the same beer cheese dip that they originally brought with the order. They didn't bother bringing us a new batch of pretzels. I would recommend reading the reviews for this place. We weren't impressed and won't be returning.
Great evening for customer appreciation night. Thanks to Kevin and the gang for a great buffet and a wonderful evening with good people.
Other than location and the ease of being able to pull up a boat to the patio of the restaurant, I can't say that there was much to recommend this location. It is a standard small town / summer vacation spot with free flowing alcohol, slow service, and extremely hit and miss foods. To be fair, they seemed overwhelmed by the number of people when we went, but who runs out of standard fare early into a labor day weekend? Other friends who gathered at the same location, different day had similarly disappointing reviews.
A nice setting with good views of the lake but has below average service and food.A recent visit on a Sunday for brunch was a disappointment. We visited several years ago for Sunday brunch and it was terrific. There were three larger parties in the restaurant which was otherwise empty, if not nearly dead. Interestingly, the sever seemed to think it was quite busy. Service was slow and the food not good at all. Tough French Toast, over cooked eggs, the portion of overly peppered hash browns was too small. The water glasses were all spotted. It seems things have changed quite a bit and not for the better, which is unfortunate. Would have given one star except it has terrific views of the lake.
Nice atmosphere and wait staff. Food was delicious!
New owners, new attitude toward the customers, great wait staff. Most restaurants are still finding their stride post COVID, but we had a great experience last weekend (6/27/20). It has a better positive feel and the food arrived faster, hotter, and with better portions than in the recent past. Give them another chance, you’ll be glad you did. (Dining room still not open, the patio was busy, but that’s to be expected as we all try to return to some sense of normalcy.) 👍
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Many other much better places in the area with better customer service and food! Try the Thirsty Otter, Top Spot, or Indianhead Supper Club.👍
Great dining room and view of the lake. Salad bar was not well stocked and the service is spotty. Food was great!
We sat down at 6:00 and food arrived at 8:25. All the while not getting cocktails until asking twice or 3 times, burnt appetizers and snotty waitstaff, trying to help hopeless missing waitress, calling us liars when we said we had been waiting for appetizers for over an hour. Charged for wine & cocktails we didn’t receive because no one brought to table from bar. I had to go up to bar at 8:30 to get water that was ordered at 6:00. All the while employees telling us “kitchen is backed up”. Every table that was filled that night was long gone by the time we left at 9pm. Tables that came in at 7:30 were gone before us. A $241 check we waited 2.5 hours for and not one dime of a discount, not one apology from management.
Service very slow.food was ok. What a gorgeous location. To bad the restaurant can't do a better job
Service was a little slow but they were shorthanded so expected. The food was good the location was great.
This place is an awsome elegant fine dining experience. The new owners and management are excellent. Very clean and nice docks for your boat. It is a privilege to be at Paradise. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Order the fish and it came over cooked only got to enjoy half of it Backed potato was done perfect, the burn was fresh butter was too quality 👌
Jeremy was an AWESOME WAITER❤😘
It took a 1 hr for the food to come . The food was bad.
Good food. Good service. Great views of Balsam Lake. Chandelier and mural in dining area is must see. Were there for the Iceman 500 races and already looking forward to returning next year.
Wow, This place is very COOL. A favorite of ours.
Was visiting with family last night, and everything was great up until we heard a commotion coming from the kitchen area, that only escalated over time, and resulted in what could only be described as 'hurling profanities' into the lobby(which we soon learned was spoken by the very owner of such a great establishment). We were told this was a family friendly restaurant, but it was a very disappointing recommendation that I hope no one ever makes the mistake of revisiting. If you do choose, however, to brave this violent dinner theater, here are a couple of tips: The drinks are watered down, the food is over priced, their wait staff needs work at best, and if I'm being completely honest? I would have left 0 stars had I been given the option, and even that would have been generous.
New owners. Not a big menu. Just had chicken strips appetizer. Fairly ordinary but the setting is terrific. Would expect improvement with time.
Service was great. Cooks did not keep up with demand at buffet. Very disappointed.
Slow service great food
We had a delightful waitress. The food was good. It is a beautiful place.
Needed more staff behind bar. Long wait for food. Unorganized but new owners!?
Beautiful place. Food and service is hit or miss. Lacks consistency.
Good service and good food. There's was a bit of a wait on the food for it not being very busy. Other than that everything was good. Walleye and ribs were very good.
Good food beautiful view
Beautiful restaurant on a gorgeous spot on Balsam lake. I was disappointed in the menu, only 1 steak and 1 fish option which I felt was very overpriced. The rest of the menu was much like regular bar menu fare you can get anywhere else. I will say our server was excellent the night we went.
Slow service Came in a group of 25 and some of are group is done eating and we are stiill wating Over 90 minutes If you have more than 5 in your group skip this place People on the patio got here after us and they are done eating SKIP SKIP THIS PLACE
Had shrimp tacos. Came out in corn tortilla, cold, straight cabbage, and little to no sauce. Tasted horrible, sent it back and got a cheese burger. It had French onion soup mix in it and flat iron. Bun was stale, great area for viewing the lake and having a few drinks. Unfortunately no longer for good food. Such a shame , beautiful building and patio to have such sub par food.
Beautiful patio, with great views. The food was great. We had the Ruben, Rachel and burger, they were all very, very good! We were skeptical after reading reviews, so glad we went!
Well worth the 65 minute drive from Woodbury MN. We order the giant pretzel for an appetizer and it was delicious! Our entrees were amazing, I had the shrimp fettuccine alfredo , and my husband's steak was cooked to perfection! Also, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a strawberry Moscow Mule
Family style breakfast was ok... Not expensive, but could use a good cleaning of ceiling vents & windows... Which are big and beautiful by the way!
Wonderful place on lake.
We went there this summer with family that was visiting from Australia and England, it was the absolute worst service and food we’ve ever had some of us didn’t even get our food, some of us got food right away and somebody ordered a chicken meal Something and it never came with chicken. It’s a beautiful restaurant, But horrible food and service. I will never go back. And it’s expensive. They weren’t even that busy just bad management bad food bad everything beautiful restaurant but it needs somebody that knows how to manage and run a restaurant and cook.
Zach the bartender know how to shake a great cocktail...ask him for his zachohal cocktail you will be blown away..
Asked the waitress if we could take a table for dinner outside at 6:15. She said sit anywhere you want. After we sat, the staff ignored us. We went inside and ordered drinks from the bar because no servers acknowledged us. After 45 minutes we still had no contact from any staff even though we had told the server we were here for dinner. Finished our drinks and left without ever even being spoken too. It’s sad because it would be nice to have a nice dinner club on the lake. But don’t waste your time here, go to the Thirsty Otter instead.
Very disappointed! I hate to be like this but menu small, potatoes cold and hard (baby reds..not) pasta luke warm, no roll or breadstick, staff going through motions. Was not busy so that had time to be social. Paid with card and server more interested in what we left for a tip. Was told not to go but we wanted to judge ourselves. Was looking for place to have anniversary party. Will not be here. On the up side drinks were great.
We were excited to eat at Paradise to try the new menu. Sadly, after 30 minutes of being seated, we were not served or even acknowledged.
We had problems with every persons order at our table. Fish sandwich meant you only get a fish nugget on your bun. Chicken wings have breading and not tossed in sauce even though we specifically ask if it had breading on it. And didn’t even ask if we wanted something else after being told we weren’t able to eat the wings. Mac and cheese was hard and cold. Meat lovers pizza (pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage) meant your gonna get pepperoni, Canadian bacon and taco meat. Took 20 minutes to find some more cream. Never asked if we wanted more to drink. Rude service and poor food. Very disappointed.
